English: The meaning of the term Babor (in arabic بَابور ), as mentioned in the arabic Al-Raed Dictionary is :
Babor means: steamer (بَابور يَعني : باخرة ), as it is described in page 160 of the Al-Raed dictionary. Mont Babor’s name is due to its ship-like position on the surface of the sea, and the mountains surrounding it look like high waves heading towards it from the sea (Gulf of Babor which is not far ), in addition to being the highest peak in the region with 2004 meters of altitude.العربية: معنى بابور، كما ورد في قاموس الرائد
بَابور يَعني : باخرة، جَمعه : بَوابير ترجع تسمية جبل بابور بهذا الاسم الى وضعيته المشابهة لباخرة على سطح البحر، والجبال الجاورة له تشبه ، أمواج عالية تتجه نحوه آتية من البحر(خليج البابور) الذي لا يبعد عنه بكثير، بالاضافة الى انه أعلى قمة في المنطقة 2004 م. |
